COVID-19...Am I right?
We have all been cooped up in our houses, and the weather has been less than cooperative! I'm going a little crazy.... hoping I'm not alone!
To avoid one day sliding into the next and losing all grasp on reality and time, I found some helpful tips on HenryFord.com:
Limit the news. Watching the news all day can increase anxiety levels. Tune in to the morning or evening news and turn to reliable sources of information, such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization only once or twice a day.
Take advantage of stress management techniques. Think meditation, deep breathing and journaling. This is also a great time to practice gratitude. Meditation and breathing apps are available to make it easier.
Stay in touch with friends and family. Touch base through phone calls, online games, video chats and virtual happy hours.
I have been attempting all of the above, and this past Saturday my awesome family, near and far, participated in a few rousing games of Bingo on Zoom! It was absolute chaos, so I spent much of my time just taking in all the smiles and laughs on everyone's faces.
So whether you're enjoying a much needed break or struggling to find balance and meaning during this strange time, repeat this mantra as often as needed:
